Park Avenue Learning Center is located in Room 21B, and is always
bustling with excitement! Mrs. Hyvarinen (Resource Specialist) and Mrs.
Phillips (Paraprofessional) work with students in grades kindergarten
through fifth grade. Learning Center students come in throughout the day
(pull-out services) for small group, specialized academic instruction
using core curriculum and supplementary materials. The Learning Center
provides targeted academic support and small group instruction for
students on Individualized Edcuational Plans (IEPs) and for non-IEP
students needing additional academic support who qualify under the
school's Response to Intervention (RTI) plan. The Learning Center staff
also provides "push-in services" to classrooms throughout the day in
their homeroom class environment. This blend of "pull out" and "push in"
services provides the necessary academic safety net needed to ensufe
student academic growth and success. Student progress towards their
academic goals is monitored frequently and adjustments are made
throughout the year to keep students challenged and learning!
